Description:
This course covers the basics of plastic pipe fusion. Upon completion of this module the student will have a general understanding of the background and necessity for the Operator Qualification training modules, will have a basic understanding of the different kinds of plastic pipe used in the heat fusion process, will be able to understand the basic principles of heat fusion, will be able to perform the steps involved in the heat fusion process and will be familiar with the qualification procedures used to inspect and test the fused joints. The student will be familiar with the common safety precautions to take when handling polyethylene pipe and the student will understand the hazards of static electricity, as well as steps to take to prevent sparks.
